Origin/meaning

The arms are used since 1861 and show a tree trunk. Old seals show the arms held by the Prussian eagle. In the 1930s the eagle disappeared. In the 1950s the colour was changed from green to natural colour, which in the 2001 was undone. The arms are canting, the name is derived from the Slavic word clada, meaning tree trunk. It also symbolises the forests around the town.
