Parti de sinople et de gueules, au château flanqué de deux tours couvertes et pavillonnées d’argent, ouvert, ajouré et maçonné de sable, brochant sur le parti, posé sur une terrasse d’or chargée de trois burelles ondées de sinople, surmonté d’un besant d’argent chargé d’une croisette pattée au pied fiché de gueules, brochant sur le parti et accosté d’une roue de moulin d’or à dextre et d’une roue dentée de seize pièces du même à senestre. Motto: Jocundiacum palatium Origin/meaning The arms are divided in green and red to symbolise nature/agriculture and industry. The castle is the local castle, known from around 1000. The cross pattée refers to the Knights Templar, to which the town belonged for a long period of time. The water mill wheel refers to the local paper mills of Puy Moulinier (known from the 17th century) and the cogwheel to the rubber factories. The base shows the Vienne river.
