Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 11, 2011.

The upper part refers to the importance of forestry for the area. The wavy bar refers to the Mureș river, and was also found on ancient pottery found in the area.

The capercaillie refers to the nature and the Toplita-Deda nature reserve.
