English Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a blue square arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border, an orange hawk displayed grasping in its left talon an orange olive branch leaved green and grasping in its right talon an orange oak branch leaved green and surmounting an orange torch enflamed. Attached above a blue scroll inscribed “HAYFIELD” in orange letters all within a 1/8 (.32 cm) orange border. Attached below a blue scroll inscribed “HAWKS” in orange letters all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width.

Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess per pale; barry of four Azure charged with three mullets Argent, Gules, Argent, Gules; Silver a parchment scroll unfurled palewise Tenné charged with the cypher H of the field; Argent a lamp enflamed Tenné, within a border Gray semé of six dogwood flowers White. Attached below the shield an Orange scroll inscribed “HAYFIELD” in Silver letters.

Origin/meaning

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Blue and orange are the school colors. The hawk is the school mascot and reflects the strength and determination of the cadets. The olive and oak branches symbolize the cadets’ loyalty and dedication to school, community and country.

Shoulder Loop Insignia: The device is the school’s coat of arms.

The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 3 April 1997.
