Blason de Essegney/Arms (crest) of Essegney
Official blazon
French D'azur à l'épée d'argent garnie d'or accostée en chef de deux fleurs de lys d'or et en pointe d'une rose d'or boutonnée de gueules à dextre et d'un monde cintré et croisé d'or à senestre.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The sword is taken from the arms of the Espée family, the rose from the arms of the Thumery family. Both families ruled the village in 1737. The fleur-de-lys are taken from the arms of Rene of Anjou, how founded a hospital in the village in 1438.

The orb is the symbol of the British Commonwealth, and symbolises the soldiers of Commonwealth countries that lost their lives in the area in the two World Wars.
