Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 12, 1977.

The arms show an oak tree with four leaves and an acorn, symbolising the four municipalities that joined into one Samtgemeinde. The oak is a common tree in the area.

The base indicates the many waters in the area; the Aller river, Mittelland-canal and the Takumsee (lake).
