EGGENWIL

Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Eggenwil/Arms (crest) of Eggenwil

Official blazon

In Rot eine bis in den Schildfuss reichende gezinnte und schwarz gefugte weisse Mauer, überhöht von sechsstrahligem gelben Stern.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1942, the number of points of the star was finally determined in 1993.

The arms are derived from the arms of Muri, as the village was for a long time a possession of the Muri Abbey. The idea of the use of the arms of Muri already was proposed in 1914.
