Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 5, 1929.

The pine trees are the symbol of the Bregenzer Wald region in which the municipality is situated. To distinguish the arms from many similar arms, the canting black mountain (Schwarzen-Berg) was added. The combination was already used in a slightly different way on the 19th century seals of the village.
