History: First formed in 1942 at Royal Naval Air Station Donibristle (HMS Merlin), Fife, Scotland as a Fleet Fighter Squadron. The Squadron joined HMS Attacker with Supermarine Seafire (the Naval Version of the famous Spitfire). Ir served until 1944.

NO 886 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed in 1942 at Royal Naval Air Station Donibristle (HMS Merlin), Fife, Scotland as a Fleet Fighter Squadron. The Squadron joined HMS Attacker with Supermarine Seafire (the Naval Version of the famous Spitfire). Ir served until 1944.
