Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1966 and show two stallions and a blackthorn branch. The stallions indicate the horse-breeding and race track in the town. The blackthorn branch is a canting symbol (Schlehen=blackthorn) for Schlewekce, a part of the municipality. The colours are taken from the arms of the State of Niedersachsen.
