COLÔMBIA

State : São Paulo

Colombiasp.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 28, 1994.

The red field and the swords symbolise the battles and violence during the Constitutional War in 1932. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of St. Mary, patron saint of the city. The chief is taken from the arms of the Araújo family, who founded the settlement. The wavy bar in the bas symbolises the Grande, Pardo and Velho rivers in the municipality.

The shield is surrounded by orange and corn branches, the main agricultural crops in the area.
