SCHÖNAICH

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Böblingen

Wappen von Schönaich/Arms (crest) of Schönaich
Official blazon
German In Gold auf grünem Boden eine grüne Eiche mit natürlichem Stamm und natürlichen Eicheln.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1951.

The arms show a canting oak (Eiche) tree. The oldest use of an oak leaf as symbol for the municipality dates from 1681. In 1903 the municipality adopted a seal showing an oak tree. Since 1919 the tree was placed in a red shield. This colour combination is not allowed in heraldry and in 1951 the shield became golden and the tree was placed on a green base.
