The arms were granted on April 25, 1974.
The red lion is taken from the arms of the Rechberg family and Estate, to which the village belonged from 1326-1790. The golden wavy pale symbolises the Iller river. Previously the village used an unofficial red shield with in the base four rows of tiles.
