FRUTTEN-GIESSELSDORF

State : Steiermark
District : Südoststeiermark (until 2015 Feldbach)
Incorporated into: 2015 Sankt Anna am Aigen

Wappen von Frutten-Gießelsdorf/Arms (crest) of Frutten-Gießelsdorf

Official blazon

In Rot golden über einer in Furchenstich durch drei Dreiecke unter Randrillen gezierten kupferzeitlichen Tasse ein neunblättriger, vier Trauben tragender Weinstock in Gestalt eines Lebensbaumes.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 8, 1996.

Viniculture has been very important in the region of the municipality since the Middle Ages. So, a vine is growing in the arms above a piece of pre-historic ceramics (Kulttasse) found locally, at Hochstraden.
