Selected collector's items from Germany:

JOCKGRIM

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Germersheim
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Jockgrim

Wappen von Jockgrim

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

Jockgrim was a possession of the Archbishops of Speyer and received city rights in the late 14th century. The oldest seal of the city dates from the late 18th century and already shows the letter A.

In 1925 the arms were officially granted. The meaning of the A is not clear, it may be derived from a plough iron, but this is not certain.
