BETTINGEN
Canton : Basel-Stadt
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
Bettingen was a possession of different families and in 1472 it was acquired by the Truchsessen von Wolhusen, who sold it to the city of Basel in 1513. The municipality decided in the early 20th century to adopt the beaker from the arms of the Truchsessen von Wolhusen in reversed colours.
