DOTTIKON
Canton : Aargau
Official blazon
In Gelb auf grünem Dreiberg wachsendes rotes Pferd.
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted on June 14, 1950, but have been used since the 1870s, sometimes as a white horse, but officially red since 1950.
The horse is based on a local legend. In the 13th century a knight on horseback died near the village and the horse took him back to the village.
In 1914 Walther Merz proposed to use the arms of the medieval Lords von Tottikon instead, but the municipality never changed the arms.
