Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 24, 1954.

The arms are canting; “gamba” means leg.

The current name replaced in 1638 the old name VILLA BOSCO ("village of the wood"), to which the Latin motto NONNULLORUM FOLIORUM ("with many leaves") refers, which is derived from the position at the edge of "Silva Lithana" forest, existing in Roman times.
