Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 12, 1994.
The red bar refers to the prehistoric fortification, the Hasenburg, in the municipality, a major archaeological site in the region. The deer refers to the rich forests. The five green parrots are taken from the arms of the Lords von Berlepsch, who played a major role in the local history.
Literature: Ulle, 1997.
