NO 796 SQUADRON, FAA
History: First formed in 1942 at Port Reitz, Kenya as the Eastern Fleet Torpedo-Bomber Reconnaissance Pool until disbanded in 1944. Reformed in 1947 at Royal Naval Air Station St. Merryn, Cornwall as the Aircrewman's School. Disbanded in 1959.

Origin/meaning
The Badge was approved in 1949. The Latin Motto translates as "We know where we are going".
