CONDÉ-NORTHEN

Département : Moselle
Additions : 1804 Condé, Northen; 1810 Pontigny; 1979 Loutremange

Blason de Condé-Northen

Official blason

De gueules au pairle ondé d'azur accompagné en chef d'une coquille d'or, à dextre d'un croissant d'argent et à senestre d'une fleur de lis du même, florencée de deux palmes de sinople, à l'alérion d'argent brochant sur le tout.

Origin/meaning

The arms show the two Nied rivers that join in the municipality. The scallop is the symbol of St. James, the patron saint of the chapel in Northen. The crescent is taken from the arms of Jean Bruno de Niedbruck, lord of Pontigny. The fleur-de-lys is taken from the arms of the Abbey of St. Vincent, to which the village of Loutremange belonged. The alerion in the centre refers to Lorraine.
