Origin/meaning :
The arms show in the first and fourth quarter the arms of the Counts of Horne. The town belonged to the monastery of Ieper (Ypres), and the Counts of Horne were the Lords of Ieper. The tree in the second and third quarter are canting (Bois=forest).
