CARACAL

District/county (județ) : Olt

Stema Caracal

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 27, 1999.

The tower is an allusion to the name of the town, Caracale meaning "black fortress" in the Pecheneg language; the Capitoline wolf evokes the intense process of Romanization that took place in antiquity in this area; the wheat ears are reminiscent of the richness of the soil and the cultivation of cereals, traditional in this area; the winged hat refers to the commercial activity carried out in the town.
