Origin/meaning
The upper left arms were granted on January 30, 1844, the new arms (above right) on August 9, 1924.
The plough iron was already used on the local seal, dating from 1739. The plough iron most likely was chosen as a symbol for the agricultural character of the village. In 1924 a pale was added, derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Lautersheim.
