LAMATH
Département : Meurthe-et-Moselle
Official blason
- (fr) De gueules à deux bars adossés d'argent accompagnés d'une crosse en chef et de trois cailloux à dextre, senestre et en pointe le tout d'or.
Origin/meaning
Lamath historically was part of the Marquisate of Gerbéviller. The two fish are taken from the arms of the Mar quises of Gerbéviller. The cosier refers to the abbey of Beaupré, which had possessions in the town. The stones, symbols of a martyrdom by stoning, symbolise Saint Stephen, patron of the parish.
