  • (fr) Écartelé: aux 1er et 4e d'or à la bande de gueules chargée de trois alérions d'argent, aux 2e et 3e de gueules au dextrochère de carnation, vêtu d'azur, mouvant d'une nuée d'argent, tenant un épée d'argent garnie d'or accostée de deux cailloux du même; sur le tout, un écu en losange d'azur à la fasce d'argent surmontée de deux roses du même.

Origin/meaning

The territory was historically part of Lorraine, hence the arms of Lorraine in the first and fourth quarter. The second and third quarter show the aarms of the Cathedral Chapter of Metz, which has several possesions in the area. Th inescutcheon shows the arms of Nicole Maujean, Lady of Halloville in the 18th century.
