Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 18, 1964.

The two colours of the arms refer to the two states to whih the village historically belonged; the Duhy of braunschweig and the State of Hildesheim. The leopard in the upper half is also taken from the Welfen family, Dukes of Braunschweig. The scales in the base refer to the Amt Coldingen/Koldingen which for a long time held the local court. The division line symbolises the Koldingen castle.
