State : Sachsen
Incorporated into : 1994 Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis (2008 Görlitz)

Weisswas.kreis.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 22, 1991.

The arms are based on the arms of the historical Oberlausitz region (wall) with in the upper half two wavy bars, which are canting; Weiswasser meaning White water. At the same time the waves form the letter W, the initial of the district.
