Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 4, 1981.

The arms show the H. Mary with CHild, the local patron saint. The base shows the Eiskogel mountains, that dominate the view in the municipality. The axe and trees refer to the importance of forestry. The two diamonds are taken from the Admont Abbey, which had many possessions in the area.
