Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 20, 1984.

The key and label in the upper half are taken from the arms of Bundenthal; the reeds in the lower half from the arms of Bruchweiler-Bärenbach. The wavy bend symbolizes the Wieslauter river, after which the municipality is named.
