Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 12, 1930.

The arms are based on the 19th century seal, which showed the local area; a green field with a pine tree in front of the Hittisberg mountain. Even though there has been a lot of discussion to change the arms to a more heraldic design, this has not (yet) happened. Literature : Burmeister, 1975
