LORSBACH

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Main-Taunus Kreis
Incorporated into : 1972 Hofheim am Taunus

Wappen von Lorsbach/Arms (crest) of Lorsbach
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The image above shows the arms as currently used by the city of Hofheim for Lorsbach. The arms are never formally granted.

The arms are based on the arms proposed in 1956 (see below) in the colours of Nassau.

Wappen von Lorsbach/Arms (crest) of Lorsbach

Both arms are derived from the only historical seal of the village, known since 1737. The knife is a typical knife used for cutting grapes, it thus symbolises the importance of viticulture in the area. The colour blue symbolises Nassau, silver Hessen, the two territories to which the village historically belonged.
