Origin/meaning

The village, that belonged to the Abbey of Prüm until 1576 and until 1806 to the Bishops of Trier, already had its own council in the 15th century. The council used a seal, which is known since 1478. It already showed the plough iron. On the second seal, dating from 1608, the iron was placed on the cross of Trier. The present arms were granted in 1951 and are based on the oldest seal.
