Wappen von Bockstadt/Arms (crest) of Bockstadt
Official blazon
German

In Gold ein abgerissener schwarzer Bockkopf, dessen Halsfell eingebogen in fünf grüne Lindenblätter ausläuft.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 13, 2010.

The goat refers to the village of Bockstadt and is a canting element. The linden leaves refer to the village of Herbartswind, which are 'wound' around the neck of the goat. In both villages linden trees are very common.

The colours black, gold and green refer to the Counts of Henneberg, who acquired the village in 1340. Black and gold are taken from the arms of the von Münchhausen family, which lived in the local castle until 1938.
