Origin/meaning

The arms have been officially granted on 4th November 1996.

The first partition shows the arms of Cànoves, with the local castle and two bonfires at each side, the attributes of St. Muç (or Mucius), the local patron saint. The second partition shows the arms of Samalús, with the saltire or Cross of St. Andrew (the local patron saint) and three stars, a traditional sign on the arms of the village.
