Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 1967.
The blue field represents the Bleu de France (the blue colour of the arms of the french Kings), the golden lion represents the Franks then the House of Lutzelbourg, to whom the village historically belonged.
The red bordure represents the blood shed during the wars. The scallops are the symbol of pilgrims who adorned their hats during pilgrimages to Mont Saint Michel and Santiago de Compostella with scallops. They also refer to the local patron saint, Saint Michael.
