Origin/meaning

The municipality did not use arms. The arms above are village arms designed in the 1990s (?).

The arms combine the arms of the State of Köln and the county of Waldeck, and the sword as a symbol of the 'Freigrafschaft' (a type of court, the sword is the sword of justice).
