Armoiries de Chouvigny

Official blason

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on May 11, 1999.

The arms show the local castle on a rock in the Sioule river. The two diamonds are taken from the arms of the oldest Lords of the village, the Chauvigny family. The small shield in the base shows the arms of the Lafayette family, Lords of the village from 1453-1706.
