Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on September 24, 1929.

The fleur-de-lis are taken from the arms of the former Lords of the village, the Kämmerer von Dalberg family. The two knives are a symbol for the viticulture in the region. The arms were already used as such on the oldest known seal of the village, dating from 1476.

Literature : Hessisches Wappenbuch - Ortswappen, 1956.
