ÁRVA PROVINCE

Arms of Árva Province

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were first mentioned in 1837 and were most likely granted by King Ferdinand V. I have no information on its meaning.

Árva was a province of Hungary 1330-1850, 1861-1918. The province was divided between Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia) and Poland (as Orava and Orawa).
