Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 17, 1948.

The Wheel Cross symbolises Ål Church, one of the oldest in the Province of Dalarna (Dalecarlia). The Ear of Wheat symbolises Agriculture, and the Miners Axes the Mining.
The Wavy Fess symbolises the River Dalälven and the Lake Insjön.
