Blason de Égreville

Official blazon

Coupé: au 1er parti au I palé d'argent et de gueules, au II d'azur à l'aigle contournée et couronnée d'or, au 2e de gueules à la poule gâtinaise d'argent membrée de carnation. |- |English | No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation |}

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1999.

The upper half is derived from the arms of the D'Ermont d'Egreville family, former lords of the village.

The lower half shows the typical Gâtinaise chicken, bred in the village for a very long time. The red field symbolises the historical iron mines in the municipality.
