Origin/meaning

The Blue field symbolises the Infantry Roots of the Battalion. The pine tree indicats Revolutionary War Service. The Cross is from the badge of the 18th Corps in the Civil War.
The Bend is for Engineer Service 1917-18. The Star symbolises the Independent Corps of Cadets, which is the origin of the Battalion. The Motto has long been accompanied the Star.
Originally approved for the 211th Artillery, Coast Artillery Corps on 19 October 1922. It was amended on 24 August 1923 to correct the wording of teh balzonry of the shield and crest.
On 20 April 1950 the Coat of Arms was redesignated for the 126th Heavy Tank Battalion. It was designated for the 220th Infantry on 1 June 1961. On 13 September 1984 the Insignia was
redesignated for the 126th Signal Battalion. The Coat of arms was redesignated for the 211th Military Police Battalion on 16 July 1996.
