State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Segeberg
Amt : Amt Leezen

Bark.jpg

Official blazon

Über erniedrigtem roten Dreiberg und in diesem wurzelnd in Silber drei aus einer Wurzel wachsende, eine gemeinsame Krone bildende natürlich tingierte Birken.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 6, 1999

The three birch trees in the arms symbolise the three villages in the municipality, Bark, Schafhausen and Bockhorn. At the same time the birch is a canting symbol, in the local dialect Bark means birch (in German Birke). The red hill in the base refers to the Barker Heide, a protected natural reserve in the municipality.
