Wappen von Basdorf (Wandlitz)/Arms (crest) of Basdorf (Wandlitz)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on ??.

The arms are based on a local legend in which, around 400 years ago, a very exited and angry deer came running out of the forest near the village. Just out of the forest he met a local farmer, who got killed. The villagers thus chased the deer, which ran into the local church, where it was killed. Ever since the local church has a large chandelier, made of the antlers of the deer.

The small shield symbolised the seven villages and hamlets in the municipality.
