BAULNE
Département : Essonne
Official blazon
D'or à trois fasces ondées de sinople, au franc-canton d'azur chargé de deux poissons d'or adossés l'un au-dessus de l'autre.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 1984.
The three wavy bars are taken from the arms of the last Lord of Baulne, Loir de Lude. The arms also symbolise the rivers in the municipality and the gold refers to the fields and the agricultural character.
The free quarter with the fish symbolize the peat bogs that are were converted into fishing ponds, to the satisfaction of many Île de France residents who go there on weekends on sunny days.
