BENAVENT DE SEGRIÀ

Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida

Benavents.png

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de gules, un molí de vent d'argent tancat de sable i aspat d'or. Per timbre una corona de marquès.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 8, 1995.

These arms are canting: the windmill is a sign that alludes to the name of the village ("vent" is wind in Catalan). The marquis crown refers to the fact that Benavent became the centre of a marquisat in 1702.
