Selected collector's items from Germany:

BENNIGSEN

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Region Hannover (1974-2001 Hannover, until 1974 Springe)
Incorporated into : 1974 Springe

Wappen von Bennigsen

Official blazon

In dem vor Silber über Blau geteilten Schilde oben ein schrägstehender, roter Armbrustschaft. Unten eine Zuckerrübe mit grünen Blättern.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 2, 1956.

The upper half of the arms is derived from the arms of the medieval Lords von Bennigsen, who had their estate in the village from 1311 onwards.

The sugarbeet is a symbol for the importance of sugar cultivation.
