The arms were officially granted on January 23, 1995.

The wavy bar refers to the spring of the Weilräder Eller in the municipality, The fish hook is taken from the arms of the Lords von Bockelnhagen. The tower refers to the (ruins of the) Allerburg castle in the municipality.
