BORNHEIM

State : Hessen
Incorporated into : 1877 Frankfurt am Main

Wappen von Bornheim (Frankfurt)/Arms of Bornheim (Frankfurt)
Official blazon
German

In Schwarz eine silberne Wolfsangel.

English (Frankfurt) No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the seals of the village known from 1621, 1742 and 1781. The so called wolf-hook is a typical symbol used often as a village sign in the Southern half of Germany. It is also known from the borderstones of Bornheim from the 17th century.
